Kevin Bacon is a well-known Hollywood actor who has been in a number of films. He is most recognized for his roles in Footloose, a 1984 musical drama, and A Few Good Men, a 1992 courtroom drama. He was most recently seen as FBI agent Jackie Rohr in the Showtime crime thriller City on a Hill. City on a Hill is set in 1990s Boston, a crime-ridden city with a corrupt police department. When new Assistant DA DeCoursy Ward (Aldis Hodge) comes into town, he aims to overhaul the whole system and forms an odd friendship with FBI agent Jackie Rohr.

The series debuted on June 16, 2019, and has now broadcast two seasons totaling 18 episodes. The first episode of the third season aired on Showtime on July 31, 2022, and has already been uploaded on Showtime Now exclusively for streaming on July 29, 2022. The next season will contain eight additional episodes and will take up where the second season left off.

1) Before becoming an actor, Kevin Bacon worked as a waiter.

Kevin Bacon rose from modest beginnings to become one of the most well-known performers in the business. His father was well-known as a significant architect and city planner in Philadelphia, responsible for altering the contemporary cityscape, and young Kevin was resolved to make it even greater by becoming an artist who would be revered worldwide.

After going to New York to pursue his acting career, he worked as a waiter at the All-State Cafe, one of the most renowned Upper West Side hangouts. Even after finishing his first picture, National Lampoon’s Animal House, he wasted his compensation and went back to serving tables while applying for other jobs. From his part in Animal House, he was even dubbed “The Chip.”

2) He was about to lose out on his breakout role in Footloose.

Kevin Bacon’s breakout performance was in the 1984 musical drama Footloose, which catapulted him to mainstream stardom. Despite having previously appeared in a number of films, Footloose became somewhat of a defining title for him in his early career.

Surprisingly, he was on the verge of losing the role. Dawn Steel, a studio executive, believed he was unsuitable for the job and preferred someone else, such as Tom Cruise or Rob Lowe. Fortunately for him, the director and producer were drawn to his past performances. They lobbied for him, and after some dancing courses, a screen test, and a haircut, he was cast as Ren.

3) Kevin Bacon has never received an Academy Award nomination.

Kevin Bacon has had a lengthy and successful career spanning over 40 years, with a lot of notable titles to his credit. Some of his most notable films are Apollo 13 (1995), Crazy, Stupid, Love (2011), Hollow Man (2000), X Men: First Class (2011), Black Mass (2011), and many more. In 2003, he was also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

However, he has never been nominated for an Academy Award in his whole career. It is pleasantly unexpected given that five of his films have received Academy Award nominations for Best Picture and numerous more in other categories. In an interview with The Telegraph, Bacon said that he dislikes Oscar season since he has not yet been nominated and has to watch others get nominations and win at the Academy Awards. While he has not gotten an Academy Award, he has garnered several other prizes and honors, including the Golden Globe and Saturn Awards, among others.

The game’s premise is that Kevin Bacon may be linked to any actor who comes to mind within six steps or fewer, either via movies in which they have starred alone or alongside someone who has shared the screen with Bacon.

Although Bacon was first opposed to the endeavor, he eventually accepted it and even praised it. He utilized the game to launch a humanitarian organization called “Six Degrees” in 2007 and has raised $5 million to far.
