Amy Grant Was Rushed To The Hospital After She Got Into A Bike Accident

Amy Grant, an American singer-songwriter, was killed in a bicycling accident at a Nashville park on July 27. Grant was riding her bike with a buddy around the Harpeth Hills Golf Course when she crashed. Because she was wearing a helmet, the singer suffered no serious injuries. She was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center’s emergency department after the accident to have her injuries and abrasions evaluated. According to WKRN in Nashville, the singer is presently stable but will most likely be hospitalized as a precaution.

Amy Grant’s tragedy occurred only days after she was awarded the Kennedy Center Honor by the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. In addition to Grant, the awardees include the Irish band U2, actor George Clooney, and singer Gladys Knight.

The singer recently marked the 25th anniversary of her album Behind The Eyes, released in 1997. She issued a two-CD set of the album’s 25th anniversary enhanced version. The two CDs include 30 tracks as well as an eight-page booklet with photos and tales about the making of Behind The Eyes.

Amy Grant, dubbed “The Queen of Christian Mainstream,” started her career in contemporary Christian music before transitioning to pop music in the 1980s and 1990s. The album sold five million copies in the United States and spawned her second No. 1 pop song, Baby Baby, as well as additional successful singles such as That’s What Love Is For, Every Heartbeat, and Good for Me.
