He’s one of just two men to win a lifetime Golden Slam and Super Slam. This guy is the most recent American to win the French and Australian Opens. He was the first to win all four major singles titles on three distinct surfaces (hard, clay, and grass).

He won 17 ATP Masters Series titles and was on 1990, 1992, and 1995 Davis Cup squads. This player first topped the global rankings in 1995 but had personal troubles in the 1990s.

Many thought Andre’s career was ended when he plummeted to No. 141 in 1997. In 1999, he returned to No. 1 and had his most successful four-year run. His 20-year tour career was known as “The Punisher.”
