Puma, the German footwear and athleisure company, is preparing for the next chapter by naming Arne Freundt as the business’s next CEO. Arne takes over as CEO of Puma from Bjrn Gulden, who has been with the company since 2013. Arne Freundt will take over as CEO of Puma SE in November 2022. Freundt was also named Chairman of the Supervisory Board’s Management Board. The German label has offered him a four-year deal that will begin on January 1, 2023. Freundt has served as Chief Commercial Officer on the Management Board since June 2021.

Freundt was born in Germany in 1980. He began his career with Siemens Advanta Consulting in March 2005 and remained there for 6 years as a Senior Project Manager till June 2011. He began working at Puma in July 2011 as a part of the Global Director Strategy team. From January 2015 until December 2018, he served as Global Director of Retail and E-commerce. From January 2019 until May 2021, he was the General Manager of EMEA. He was just elevated to CEO after being hired as Chief Commercial Officer in 2021. His educational career has been fantastic, as he has attended EM Strasbourg Business School and HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management.
What does everyone anticipate from Arne Freundt, the German label’s CEO?
Freundt’s new post has piqued everyone’s interest, and they have great hopes for him. Hélodie Temple-Boyer, Chair of the Supervisory Board, remarked on Arne’s new position:
“With Arne Freundt taking over as CEO, we have a recognized leader inside the firm.” He has been recognized as a contender and is the right option to continue Puma’s highly successful route while also accelerating the company’s pace. Freundt himself is ecstatic about his new role:

Arne was formerly in charge of Corporate Strategy and the Global Direct-to-Consumer division. Freundt was appointed CEO with immediate effect by the supervisory board, after it was announced that Bjrn Gulden would take over as CEO of Adidas on January 1, 2023.
