Hamdi Ulukaya, a Turkish millionaire businessman, activist, and philanthropist best known as the founder of the “Chobai” yogurt brand, is making headlines not just for his economic accomplishments but also for his relationships. She has a handwritten letter written by her husband in 2003 in which he promised her a 53% interest in the Euphrates. Recently, Ayse claimed that her ex-husband stole the secret to the famous yogurt in 1999 when he traveled to Europe on a plane and met with an ex-Fage employee for whom he paid 30,000 euros.
Ayse Giray is not the only one suing him; in 2004, he was sued by Albany residents Hikmatullah Siraj and Mohammed Siraj, who claimed Ulikaya promised them 50% ownership in the Euphrates in exchange for the money; they claimed he owned them 112,000 following around $324,000 in 1999 investments.
Two years ago, Dr. Ayse Giray was cited in a lawsuit brought by her 21-year-old son Eric Giray in which he claimed Daniel Dworakowski, a former Calhoun School classmate, tormented him relentlessly, pushing him down the bleachers on one occasion in 2004.
