On Friday, May 20, comedian and HBO political talk show host Bill Maher sparked outrage when he discussed infant gender reassignment and the rise of the LGBTQ+ movement. The presenter said that youngsters had identified as transgender as a result of the coming out trend.

During his New Rule section on the program, Maher mentioned a recent Gallup survey that showed an exponential increase in people who classified as LGBTQ+. The 66-year-old New York native went on to say that individuals should be entitled to ask questions like:

“What’s the deal with that?”

In the past, when parents asked youngsters what they wanted to be when they grew up, “they meant what profession,” Maher quipped.

Bill Maher, the controversial talk show presenter, remarked during his segment:

“Remember that children are impressionable and very ignorant. A male who believes he is a girl may just be homosexual – or whatever ‘Frazier’ was, stressing that being a girl does not obligate you to behave like a Kardashian. And maybe, if life is making you unhappy, you may say, ‘There are other options than giving me the d*ck saw.'”

Later, Maher continued:

“I realize that being trans is an intrinsic trait. However, children go through periods. Everything is flexible with children. If kids knew what they wanted to be at the age of eight, the world would be filled with cowboys and princesses. I always wanted to be a pirate. Thank goodness no one booked me for eye surgery or peg leg surgery.”

Maher addressed his worries about puberty blockers provided to transgender kids in transition. He also discussed the long-term health consequences of these shifts, such as concerns with bone density, fertility, and other factors. The host then added:

“We are actually testing youngsters.”

The Real-Time with Bill Maher host also stated that no gay males were considered for the job of Grand Marshalls in the next Pride march in New York. He went on to say:

“That’s where we are now: homosexual guys aren’t cool enough to march in a Gay Pride parade. CIS is nearly gay, and Mormon is practically CIS.”

Netizens are still divided over Bill Maher’s remarks on LGBTQ+ youngsters.

Following his divisive remarks, Maher’s take on the Real-Time episode generated heated controversy online. On May 21, the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) replied to Maher’s statements with a series of tweets.”

“It’s deceptive to claim you’re just “asking questions,” then deliver misleading responses that echo anti-trans radicals out to damage trans people. Parents who listen to their children, physicians, and every major medical organization know more than comedians such as Bill Maher.”
