William “Dynamite” Douglas and Lula Pearl have a son named James “Buster” Douglas. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 7, 1960. He grew up in Columbus’ Windsor Terrace neighborhood.
He attended Linden McKinley High School and played basketball and football. Following that, he played basketball for the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens in Coffeyville, Kansas. He also attended Sinclair Community College. Douglas later received a basketball scholarship to Mercyhurst University.
Buster Douglas married Bertha M. Paige in 1987. They have three sons whose names are Arthur, Kevin, and Cardae. He also has a son named Lamar with his high school girlfriend.
He was given the moniker “Desert Fox.” In 1977, he won the Class AAA state basketball championship. He once weighed around 400 pounds and had a coma. Duane Davis portrayed him in the television film ‘Tyson’ in 1995.

Buster Douglas began his professional wrestling career in 1981, defeating Dan O’Malley in his first match. He defeated Mike Lear in July of that year. He then defeated boxers Mike Rodgers, Abdul Muhaymin, and Jesse Clark.
Douglas lost his first match against David Bey in November 1981, after five consecutive victories. A month later, he defeated Don Johnson. He boxed against Norway’s Steffen Tangstad in October 1982. It resulted in his first career draw.
Douglas suffered his second career defeat against Mike White in 1983, following a thirteen-match winning streak. He then defeated Randall Cobb and Dion Simpson.
Buster Douglas defeated Trevor Berbick of Canada in February 1989. Prior to this, he defeated former champion, Greg Page.
He fought Mike Tyson in the Tokyo Dome in 1990. The winner of the match will be crowned undisputed world champion and will face the undefeated Evander Holyfield. He later pulled off the biggest upset by defeating Tyson.
