Cabello will join Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and John Legend as full-time coaches. As a result, she will replace Kelly Clarkson, who is departing the singing competition for the first time since entering as a coach in Season 14. Cabello previously served as a counselor for Team Legend during Season 21. Kelly intimated last week that she could take a year off from the program.

She stated:

“I turned 40, and you know what I’m getting for my birthday? This summer, I basically said “no” to everything. This summer, I’m not going to do anything. I haven’t had a summer off since I was 16 years old. This summer is my first off. I’m taking my time.”

Blind auditions for The Voice normally begin in June, and season promotions begin in August, so if Kelly takes a summer vacation, she will not be on the program.

Kelly Clarkson’s reasons for leaving The Voice

Kelly Clarkson is teaming with rapper Snoop Dogg for the American Song Contest, in addition to guiding budding musicians on The Voice and presenting her daytime TV chat program, The Kelly Clarkson Show. The new NBC Musical Competition Series will have 56 musicians from each of the 50 states, five U.S. territories, and the nation’s capital.

Fans have questioned if Kelly’s next TV project, which was revealed with a 30-second teaser before Super Bowl Sunday, is an indication that she is ready to move on from The Voice. Kelly has not spoken publicly about her decision to quit The Voice. She hasn’t mentioned anything about quitting the program, but she has indicated that her work schedule may change.

She stated:

“I’ve decided that this year, there will only be a few adjustments for me that I can’t discuss here,” she stated during the Q&A. “But there are a few of things going on. I’ve been able to devote more time to myself and my children while still working. Just somewhere we can go away on weekends and do some fun things with my kids.”

While she did not elaborate, the Texas native did not say if the adjustments will affect her performance on The Voice. It’s also worth mentioning that The Voice Season 22 is yet to be renewed.
