Chester Bennington was an American singer, songwriter, and occasional actor best known as the lead vocalist of Linkin Park, Grey Daze, Dead by Sunrise, and Stone Temple Pilots. Following the release of Linkin Park’s debut album, Hybrid Theory (2000), a worldwide commercial success, he catapulted to prominence as a vocalist. From Meteora (2003) through One More Light (2017), Linkin Park’s subsequent studio albums maintained the band’s success. As a side project, he started his band, Dead by Sunrise, in 2005. The band’s debut album, Out of Ashes, was released on October 13, 2009.

He joined Stone Temple Pilots in 2013 to release the extended play record High Rise on October 8, 2013, under their record label, Play Pen, but left in 2015 to concentrate entirely on Linkin Park. He has two Grammys, one for Best Hard Rock Performance and the other for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.
