The next year, he joined Paris Saint-academy, Germain’s where he quickly excelled and was enrolled into INF Clairefontaine’s juvenile teams at the U-15 level. Cedric Cattenoy, his former PSG junior coach, described him as a late development who was brilliant despite his diminutive stature. Nkunku was promoted to PSG’s B squad after two excellent years at Clairefontaine, where he thrived under young coach Francois Rodrigues. Rodrigues described Nkunku as a youngster who, despite his diminutive stature, was tremendously brilliant.
