David Michael Navarro was born in Santa Monica, California. He was the child of Constance Colleen Hopkins and James Raul Navarro. Dave graduated from Sherman Oaks, California’s Notre Dame High School, where he attended. In 1983, his mother passed away after being murdered by her ex-boyfriend. In addition, he wrote about the specifics of his mother’s murder in a documentary he produced under the name Mourning Son, which was later released in 2015.
