Career

David’s career started with his love of movies, television, and Gene Kelly musicals. He auditioned for One Summer and was cast in the series, gaining the experience of being known by the general public. David enrolled at RADA and moved to London for a year, but he got homesick and was unable to enjoy the journey to RADA. He was already a competent actor at the time. Morrissey returned to Liverpool after a year at RADA to play in WCPC at the Liverpool Playhouse.

He had a key main part in the State of Play series. Throughout his career, beginning in the mid-2000s, he was recruited and promoted for a variety of television shows and films. Morrissey was a standout onscreen in 2010. The Guardian and Independent praised his execution. He appeared in the films Five Days, U Be Dead, Centurion, AgathanChristie’s Poirot, and Murder on the Orient Express. He returned to The Field of Blood in 2011 and 2013.
