Deshaun was born in Gainesville, Georgia, on September 14, 1995. He grew up in the town where he was born. Deann Watson, his mother, and Don Richardson, his father, were his parents. He grew up with his two brothers, Detrick and Tyreke, and his sister, Tinisha. In his hometown, he attended Gainsville High School. He has been playing football since he was in high school.
He led his Gainesville team to the state title in his junior year and advanced to the semi-finals in his senior year. People began to notice him after his playing and successes. However, other ladies refused to drop the lawsuit, forcing Deshaun to leave the field for a year. He could only play after being moved to the Cleveland Browns.
