And because Dieter admired her, he constructed a “decorated wooden box” for her to store the letters she wrote him. Additionally, Tripp referred to Dieter as her ‘first kiss.’ They did, however, reconnect in 2000, when Tripp invited him to visit. They rekindled their romance later in life and married on December 30, 2004.
