Doja Cat Cancelled All Of Her Concert Due To Tongue Surgery

Doja Cat

Doja Cat has cancelled all of her planned shows, including The Weeknd tour, only one day after announcing that she will need tonsil surgery. Doja was also scheduled to play at the Hangout Festival in Alabama on Saturday, May 21, as well as the Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom next month. The 26-year-old singer said on her Instagram stories that the operation is regular, but her recuperation may take some time. She stated:

“Good day, gentlemen. I wanted you to hear it first from me. Unfortunately, I must undergo tonsil surgery as soon as possible. The procedure is simple, but the recuperation will be lengthy owing to edema. That means I’ll have to cancel my summer festival schedule as well as The Weeknd’s tour. I’m devastated by this, but I can’t wait for it to heal so I can go back to composing music and creating an experience for you.”

Doja Cat claims that she had infected tonsils before to the BBMAs.

Doja Cat’s decision comes a day after the singer revealed that she had inflamed tonsils before the Billboard Music Awards (BBMA). She admitted to being on antibiotics throughout the performance.

“My tonsils were sick before the BBMAs, and I was taking antibiotics but forgot about them, and then I drank wine and vaped all day.”

She went on to say:

“Then I had a horrible a** growth on my tonsil, so they had to operate on it today.”

Her throat was in horrible shape after that, and she cautioned her supporters that she could have some awful news to give shortly. The singer, who was seen drinking cocktails and smoking before taking the stage to accept an award, told fans that she would cease vaping for a time. That night, the Woman singer received many Billboard Music Awards in different categories, including Top R&B Album, Top R&B Female Artist, and Top R&B Artist.
