Eddie Jackson Will Host A New Food Network Show Called “Outchef’d”

Eddie Jackson

We can’t stop ourselves from watching Food Network’s new competition series Outchef’d. The program will showcase some skilled, unknowing home cooks who will arrive for an “audition” only to be surprised to hear that they would be competing against a world-class expert in the field.

Former NFL player Eddie Jackson, who is now a private chef and personal trainer, will present Outchef’d. Eddie is well-known for making nutritious cuisine seem wonderful, so his audience does not need a “cheat” day. He has been on several Food Network series as both a judge and a host.

Eddie Jackson’s lifetime love has been cooking.

Eddie Jackson, born in 1980, was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Carolina Panthers in 2004. This was after stealing the show with his outstanding athletic abilities at the University of Arkansas, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in business administration and management. Eddie is a four-time national College All-American in Track and Field competition. He still retains the freshman record of 110 high hurdles cleared.

Eddie played with the Miami Dolphins from 2005 to 2006, however, he was placed on injured reserve due to a ruptured ligament in his knee. In 2007, Jackson signed a two-year deal with the New England Patriots, for which he received no signing bonus. Despite earning more than $1,500,000 in both years, he was let go by the Patriots the same year. After retiring from sports, the Outchef’d presenter purchased his own food truck, since cooking had been his longtime love. He also competed in MasterChef Season 4 and finished seventh. Eddie joined the Food Network world in 2015 when he participated in and won the hit show Food Network Star.

As a reward for his tremendous success, he was given his own 6-episode program to present on the network. Eddie currently hosts the Kids BBQ Championship after serving as a judge on Clash of the Grandmas and Chopped. He also operates The Rose Hill Beer Garden, where eight food trucks provide wonderful meals to consumers on a rotating basis.

More information about Outchef’d

Under the guise of an audition, Outchef’d welcome outstanding home cooks who will be asked to prepare a meal to compete with a world-class chef.

The Food Network summary for the program stated:

“These home chefs thrive in their own kitchens, but do they have what it takes to compete against an elite pro in a culinary battle?”

Both chefs will be instructed to produce a meal using a featured item, and presenter Eddie will choose six regulars from the streets to blind sample the dishes. Home cooks may win $5,000 if they get even one vote from the six persons assessing their dish. On Thursday, September 27, at 10 p.m. ET, Food Network will broadcast Outchef’d. The two-part special premiere will also be accessible on Discovery+ on the same day.
