Elvis Presley was born on January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi, in a two-room house with his twin brother, Jessie Garon. His parents relocated to Memphis, Tennessee, in 1948, and he graduated from L. C. Humes High School in 1953.

Presley received a C in music in school, and his teacher told him he has no talent for singing. His classmates frequently bullied him at school, and he was dubbed “Mama’s Boy.” On his 11th birthday, his father gave him a guitar, and he began to take singing seriously.
