American Idol has entered Hollywood Week, and the candidates have already begun to rise to the occasion. Duet’s difficulties may be hard and draining, as seen in the last episode. While Douglas Mills and Scarlet offered some of the show’s most emotional moments, Christian Guardino and Nicolina produced the night’s greatest duet.

In Episode 8 of American Idol, the judges (Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie) will choose 24 candidates to advance in the competition. The vocalists perform alongside the band in front of a live audience for the first time in the Showstoppers round. While some made an easy adjustment to the Top 24, others did not. Betty Maxwell was a member of the latter group. Fans were highly dissatisfied with her choice to leave. Along with Betty, Douglas Mills and Yoli Mayor were unable to go.

All About Betty Maxwell’s path through the competition

Betty Maxwell has a wide range of abilities. She is not only a fantastic vocalist, but she is also a make-up artist who performs Disney character impersonation. She sang Kelly Clarkson’s A Moment Like This for her audition on the program, winning over the judges and receiving a golden ticket to Hollywood.

The participant was matched with Kelsie Dolin during her time at Hollywood Week, which appeared like an unexpected combination. As part of the Duet Challenge, they were assigned the task of performing together. Dolin was anxious about singing a duet since she had never done it before. The judges, on the other hand, anticipated Betty (a former Miss America who is no stranger to competition) to put Dolin at ease.

Betty did exactly that during rehearsals. She advised Dolin to choose a song that she and she would feel at ease performing together on stage. The Pagent Queen also added additional dance movements to the song to improve the duo’s performance. Betty and Kelsie advanced to the next round of the tournament after providing outstanding performance. However, neither made it to the Top 24 of American Idol. Viewers will have to wait until next week to see more of the candidates’ performances. American Idol airs on ABC every Monday at 8 p.m. ET.
