Frederick Christ Trump Sr. was born in The Bronx, New York, on October 11, 1905, to Frederick Trump and Elizabeth Christ Trump. From 1928 to 1923, he attended Richmond Hill High School in New York.

Fred Trump began his carpenter career and took blueprint reading classes. By 1926, he had built nearly 20 houses. At the age of 21, he became the CEO of his mother’s company, ‘Elizabeth Trump & Son.’

With his Trump Market in Woodhaven in the 1930s, he pioneered the concept of supermarkets. His marketing advertisement, “Serve Yourself and Save!” was instantly successful. He sold the supermarket chain to King Kullen a year later.

During WWII, he constructed garden apartments and barracks for the United States Navy. In 1963, he spent an estimated $70 million to build Trump Village in Coney Island. He designed and operated many large apartments in New York City.
