Gleycy Correia

Gleycy Correia, a former Miss Brazil, died on Monday, June 20, at the age of 27 following complications from a routine tonsil operation. Correia was said to have been in a coma for nearly two months after a major heart attack. The Macae native was sent to a private facility, where she died on Monday.

According to the Daily Mail UK, the former beauty pageant winner was comatose and had no brain activity. According to the magazine, Correia’s corpse was taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute of Macae for an autopsy.  Gleycy Correia’s funeral and burial preparations have been scheduled for Tuesday, June 21, morning. Some local news outlets previously stated that a wake was conducted on the day of her death.

In 2018, Correia has crowned Miss United Continents Brazil. Despite her lowly origins, she had a great career and received global praise. She was also an expert in permanent cosmetics, and she could utilize tattoos to produce permanent modifications to someone’s appearance that mimicked natural characteristics in the face or neighboring area.

The reason for the death of Gleycy Correia

According to the Daily Mail, Gleycy Correia originally suffered from significant bleeding, which was followed by a heart attack. According to some sources, Correia had been back at her home for almost five days before experiencing any issues. Lidiane Alves Oliveira, Correia’s family priest, is quoted in the magazine as saying:

“She underwent tonsil surgery, and after five days at home, she suffered a bleed.” She went to Unimed and suffered a heart attack on April 4, and has been in a coma with no neurological activity since then. She died away today.”

According to the Mayo Clinic, consequences of tonsillectomy, or tonsil removal operation, might include excessive bleeding. According to the academic medical portal, bleeding may occur after surgery if the tonsil scab is removed before the wound has healed adequately. Furthermore, bleeding may occur throughout the procedure. They state:

“Severe bleeding happens after surgery in rare circumstances, necessitating further treatment and a prolonged hospital stay.”

However, in such circumstances, the hospital would preferably keep the patient under observation for a few days to ensure that no more difficulties arise. Other hazards of the procedure include anesthesia responses, as well as edema and infections at the tonsil site.

Allegations about the killing of Gleycy Correia

Jak Abreu, a local public person, and priest who claimed to be in touch with Gleycy Correia’s family, went to Instagram and wrote about the late beauty queen many times. In one such video clip, Abreu said that her family was persuaded that the hospital had engaged in’malpractice,’ which cost her life. These charges might be one of the reasons for the late Brazilian entrepreneur and cosmetics artist’s autopsy.
