Mike, a biography of the famous Mike Tyson starring Harvey Keitel, will air on Hulu on August 25, 2022. The eight-part mini-series will follow the life of great boxer Mike Tyson both inside and outside of the ring. The drama comes from the mind of creator and screenwriter Steven Rogers and includes a slew of unique cast members. Trevante Rhodes from Moonlight, Laura Harrier from Hollywood, and Harvey Keitel, a New Hollywood Movement star and Martin Scorcese favorite, are among them.

The show’s synopsis is as follows:

“MIKE is a new program from creator/screenwriter Steven Rogers and the people behind me, Tonya, as well as showrunner Karin Gist, Executive Producer of Our Kind of People.”

The eight-episode limited series delves at Tyson’s turbulent boxing career and personal life, from being a popular worldwide athlete to a pariah and back again. The series addresses class in America, racism in America, celebrity and the power of media, sexism, the wealth disparity, the promise of the American Dream, and, finally, our own involvement in crafting Mike’s tale through the prism of Mike Tyson.”

What is Harvey Keitel renowned for, and who is he?

Harvey Keitel, a gifted but underappreciated actor, came to notoriety via his depiction of ethically ambiguous and “tough guy” roles. During the height of the New Hollywood Movement, he appeared in six Martin Scorsese films. Keitel was born on May 13, 1939, in Brooklyn, New York City, and trained under Stella Adler, Lee Strasberg, and even at HB Studio. He obtained a part in Martin Scorcese’s Who’s That Knocking at My Door while working on Broadway plays (1967). This was also the beginning of the director’s spectacular career, which helped to define the future of the Hollywood business.

Harvey served in the Marine Corps prior to his acting career. He worked as a court stenographer for 10 to 12 years after his discharge. Following a successful performance in Scorcese’s first film, he returned to play the main part in Mean Streets (1973).

He also starred in the 1974 films Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore and Taxi Driver (1976). The latter is still regarded as one of the best films of all time. He has worked on some of the most successful films of all time.
