During a recent trip to Hawaii, Canadian musician Shawn Mendes was pictured with yogi Hitomi Mochizuki as he connected with his spiritual side. On February 4, Mochizuki shared photos of Mendes, 23, sitting cross-legged on a rough slope while she aided him in snorting something from a two-pronged instrument.

Mendes looked to be using RapĂ©, a tool used to cleanse oneself “of bad energy, help with pain alleviation, and accelerate detoxification, assisting in the removal of excess mucus, toxins, and germs,” according to a Medium article. In another case, Mendes and Mochizuki clasped hands and looked each other in the eyes.

Shawn Mendes donned a gray muscle jersey and athletic leggings with a bandana tied over his neck, while Mochizuki wore biker shorts and a matching bra. Later, the singer had a drink in his hand as the couple went down a rough route.

Hitomi Mochizuki is Shawn Mendes’ spiritual companion.

Hitomi Mochizuki was born in Brooklyn in 1997. Her father is from Japan, while her mother is from Venezuela. Mochizuki eventually relocated to Maryland, where she studied spirituality and Buddhism. Mochizuki is currently a YouTuber, social media influencer, and model, with approximately 400K Instagram followers. She has around one million followers on her YouTube channel, which she started in 2013. She rose to prominence with her poignant films about PTSD, poor self-worth, anxiety, mental illness, and self-destructive habits.

She recently conducted an ad campaign for Health-Ade kombucha and promoted Amazon’s Audible app in a YouTube video about her treehouse lifestyle. She labels herself as a “Forest Nymph” and an “Ashtanga Yogi” on her Instagram account. Her grid is filled with photos of her doing meditation, yoga, and exploring nature. Mochizuki spent a year in a treehouse, according to a prior YouTube video. She also publishes videos regarding her workout routine and nutrition.
