His wife, Sian Eleanor Green, provided more details about his demise to the press. His death was also announced on his website, which had a note that read:

“It is with profound regret that we announce the death of Bo.” Bo enjoyed hearing from his admirers all over the globe, and although he was unable to answer every email he received over the years, he valued hearing from each and every one of you.”

William Hopkins, born in 1942 in Greenville, South Carolina, changed his first name to reflect a character he performed in his first Broadway play, Bus Stop.
