Jhegson was born in North America to a North American mother and father. Jhegson’s mother is a strong supporter of his career endeavors. Jhegson’s football career began with the FIFA 2022 World Cup. He joined the Ecuador national squad in 2018 after the country was not qualified for the FIFA World Cup. They qualified in 2022 by finishing as CONMEBOL’s third runner-up on March 24, 2022. Jhegson was named to the Ecuador national team’s 26-man squad for the FIFA World Cup 2022 by their coach, Gustavo Alfaro, and will make his debut in the tournament. On November 20, 2022, he appeared as a midfielder in Ecuador’s opening match against Qatar. Currently, he will play in Ecuador’s second group-stage match against the Netherlands on November 25, 2022.

He said that though the other side has extremely talented players, his squad knows how to react to such a tough circumstance, as the team has prepared effectively for counterattacks against midfielders.
