Since 1984, John Geddert has served as the head coach of the Great Lakes Gymnastics Club in Lansing, Michigan. He began his career with Larry Nassar at Great Lakes Gymnastics Club. In 1988, he was named the United States Gymnastic Federation’s Male Coach of the Year in Michigan. In 1990 and 1991, John was named the Federation’s Regional Coach of the Year.
He was later fired from Great Lakes Gymnastics Club. In 1996, he established the Twistars USA Gymnastics Club in Dimondale. Larry Nassar sexually abused young female athletes at the Twistars USA Gymnastics Club. Following the news and rumors of Larry’s sex abuse scandal in 2018, John gave his wife, Kathryn, ownership and management of the gym.
