John Grisham was born on February 8, 1955, in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He is the son of John Ray Grisham and Wanda Skidmore Grisham. His father was a construction worker and a cotton farmer, and his mother was a housewife. He has always wanted to be a baseball player since he was a child. His dreams, however, changed when he began focusing on education after attending Northwest Mississippi Community College.
