Jolene Van Vugt began her professional career in 2003 and went on to become the CMRC Ladies Ontario Provincial Champion. For the second time in 2004, she won the CMRC Ladies Ontario Provincial Champion and the National WMA Pro National Series. She was also the winner of the CMX Ladies Canadian National Championship.
She was the first woman to backflip a full-sized dirtbike in 2005, and she came in third place in the Ladies Ontario Provincial. She has also competed in and won the WMA Pro Nation Glen Helen, Hangtown, and ThunderValley tournaments. The following year, she made history once more by setting a female backflip distance record of 60 feet ramp to dirt. Because of the proper training and instruction from her intelligent best friend, Travis Pastrana, Jolene was able to accomplish the backflip with ease.
She also competed in the WMA Pro Glen Helen, finishing 16th, and the WMA Pro National Hangtown, finishing 18th. She was unable to complete the remainder of the season due to her injury.
