Career

Normally, a college basketball player would try to enter drafts in order to be selected by a major league basketball team or make it to the NBA. But Justin Tatum was unique. He had no desire to become a professional basketball player. He preferred to be a coach.

He has shifted his career path since playing college basketball to that of a coach. To be honest, his coaching record is more impressive than his college basketball stats.

Coach Tatum and his team finished third on the table in 2010 and 2011. But in 2012, he won the state championship with the Soldan Tigers, the team he was coaching at the time.

Similarly, he won the state championship with his then-team Christian Brothers College (CBC) in 2014. He has also won three PHL (Public High League) Conferences with District Championships.

He won the Metro Catholic Conference (MCC) championship twice, in 2014 and 2019, and he also won five district championships.

Justin Tatum received the Coach of the Year award in 2012 for his abilities as a coach. Jasyon reportedly stated in an online interview that his father was the first person to throw a ball into his hands. He also claimed that his father was present from the start of his basketball career.

He has trained and developed many amateur players into professionals over the course of nearly 15 years. According to reports, 14 of his students have gone on to play Division I college football, with nine more in Division II and other levels of proficiency.

He has connections with many successful athletes who have advanced academically or in the field of basketball because he is a coach.

Justin Tatum’s Net Worth

Justin Tatum has been a coach since he graduated from college. As of March 2024, a basketball coach’s annual salary in the United States is around $42,000.

Given the rate of inflation since his college days, let us assume his annual salary was $30,000.00. His worth must have increased as a result of his experience, awards, and accolades.

Coach Tatum has spent a significant amount of time and effort leading and involving his youth camps. He’s done it for the past 11 years.

For the past six years, the CBC administration has also allowed him to run his youth camps at the CBC high school. The camps are a place for young schoolchildren to learn and grow in their love of the game. Coaches from various areas also provide instructions, knowledge, and insights on how to improve one’s gameplay. The camps allow school students to meet new people and make new friends.
