Kate Moss Will Testify On The Behalf Of Johnny Deep Against His Ex-Wife Amber

Johnny Depp

Since the start of his high-profile defamation action against ex-wife Amber Heard, American actor Johnny Depp’s personal and dating life has been in the spotlight. According to the New York Post, British model Kate Moss, one of Depp’s ex-partners, will testify on Johnny’s behalf via video on Wednesday, May 25. The 48-year-name old’s came up in court when Heard claimed that her ex-husband previously shoved her down a flight of stairs.

“I simply immediately thought of Kate Moss and the stairs, and I swung at him.”

The 58-year-old actor is suing Heard over a Washington Post op-ed article she penned in 2018 in which she claimed to be a victim of domestic abuse. Although she did not particularly identify Johnny Depp in her piece, his attorneys contend that the actress’s abuse allegations have hurt his professional reputation and lost him big film jobs. She has countersued the Pirates of the Caribbean star for $100 million, saying that she has missed out on substantial career opportunities because production companies do not want actresses with a “poor reputation.”

The connection between Johnny Depp and Kate Moss

Johnny Depp and Kate Moss began dating in 1994, making their relationship one of Hollywood’s most talked-about. He had just broken up with his fiancee, Winona Ryder, for whom he had gotten a tattoo that said “Winona Forever.” According to an Instagram post by writer George Wayne, he met the couple at a party.

“Johnny was eating supper in the rear when Kate strolled in with Naomi, and The GW grabbed her and made the introduction.”

The couple became immediate media darlings after making their relationship public, receiving a lot of attention. The Black Mass actor and model gained a lot of media attention throughout their relationship and were known to fawn over one other. In 1994, a source close to Johnny Depp told People Magazine that the two were “all over one other.”

According to the insider:

“They can’t keep their hands, lips, mouths, and legs apart.”

According to The New York Post, one of the most publicly reported incidents of Johnny and Kate’s connection occurred in October 1994, when Johnny was detained while staying at a hotel on St. Mark’s Place in New York City.

Following an altercation with Moss at the hotel, the actor was detained for criminal mischief. According to People, the two had previously made headlines for their public shouting matches, and Johnny Depp’s arrest marked the end of one particularly furious argument. The actress and model left their hotel room in disarray. When the cops came, they located Johnny “perhaps intoxicated.” While it’s unclear if Kate was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time, she seems to have gotten away unscathed.

Johnny Depp was sentenced to jail for causing thousands of dollars in damage to a fancy hotel. Johnny disclosed the true reason for his 1997 separation from Kate in an interview with Hello magazine in 1998. The actor blamed their separation on his own anger, accepting full responsibility.

“I’ve never been that worked up over a lady before.” I was really dumb because our relationship had so much going for it. I had to accept responsibility for what occurred because I was tough to get along with, I allowed my job get in the way, and I didn’t give her the attention she deserved.”

Johnny also said at the time that his dedication to his career had strained his relationship with Kate Moss.

“The entire situation was insane because I should never have been so worked up over what others said about my work.” Sure, I should care about my movies, but I should strive to leave such things at home. I couldn’t do it, and I was a nightmare to live with. Trust me, I’m a complete idiot at times.”

While Kate has yet to reply to accusations that Johnny threw her down a flight of stairs during their relationship, she did speak up about their breakup in a Vanity Fair interview years later.

She admitted to sobbing over Johnny for “years,” and despite their separation, she still spoke highly of him. She said in 2012:

“No one has ever truly been able to take care of me. Johnny did it for a while. I trusted what he stated. If I asked him, ‘What do I do?’ he’d tell me. That’s what I was missing when I left. I truly lost sight of who I could rely on.”

The high-profile trial of Johnny Depp will finish on Friday, May 27.
