Kendall Schmidt was born in Andover, Kansas, in the United States on 2 November 1990. His parents, Kathy and Kent Schmidt, brought him up in Wichita, Kansas. Kenneth and Kevin Schmidt, who are also actors, are his brothers. At the age of five, he made his acting debut on Chex TV, and at the age of nine, he was hired to appear in the film A.I.
