Kim Tae-ri was among the celebs that stole the show on the red carpet of the renowned Baeksang Arts Awards 2022. The actress donned a Brandon Maxwell gown, which drew criticism for being a knock-off. According to a snapshot of an Instagram DM by a Chinese netizen, the dress retailer, Kayla Bennet, debunked accusations that the dress was a forgery. Kim Tae-ri won Best Actress for her role as Na Hee-do in the Netflix rom-com, as well as the Popularity Award. Her clothing, however, was the talk of the town before she even won the honors, as she donned a Brandon Maxwell gown. The attire was identical to what American actress Dakota Johnson wore to the Governors Awards in 2019.

Kayla Bennet, Brandon Maxwell’s official distributor, verified that the dress was somewhat different, but not because it was a knock-off. Kim Tae-outfit ri’s was altered to better match her physique. The dresses differed in two ways: the belt on the back and the top. The distributor responded to a Chinese netizen’s inquiry, explaining the discrepancies.

According to the management, the belt was altered to better suit Kim Tae-figure. ri’s The actress wore a “Kaylabennet original top manufactured on request” in the top. The photographs of the Korean actress were even posted on the official Kayla Bennet Instagram account. The 32-year-old actress defied her age as she came down the red carpet in the gown, and she even stole the show with her amusing comments.

Meanwhile, at the 58th Baeksang Arts Prizes, Netflix’s series won the most TV category awards. With three prizes apiece, Squid Game and D.P. took home the most. Twenty-five and twenty-one received two prizes.
