According to Deadline, British actor Kingsley Ben-Adir has been hired as Bob Marley, the iconic reggae musician. According to the newspaper, the project’s studio, Paramount, has been looking for the right actor to play the legendary Jamaican singer-songwriter for over a year.

Reinaldo Marcus Green, who made his directorial debut with last year’s highly acclaimed sports drama King Richard, will helm the film. Meanwhile, Zach Baylin, Frank E. Flowers, and Terence Winter are writing the screenplay for the Bob Marley biography. According to reports, the biography will also be produced by Paramount and Marley’s family, which includes his wife Rita, son Ziggy, and daughter Cedella.
