Laney Chantal Passed Away At The Age Of 33 Due To An Overdose Of Drugs

Laney Chantal, a well-known cosmetics artist, died on October 31, 2022, after an accidental drug overdose. Her death occurred when she was 33 years old. On social media, Chantal’s friends, notably artist Gabriella Accarino, shared their sorrow. Accarino shared a slideshow of her images with Chantal on Instagram, along with information on the latter’s job as a special effects makeup artist, and added,

“Laney was more than just a great friend to me. She was both my sister and my soulmate. She was an honest, compassionate, creative, and lovely person. We communicated without speaking a single word.”

She went on to say,

“It was the deepest connection I’d ever had with someone. Laney’s work and soul are priceless, and she contributed to making the world a better place.”

Gabriella recalled riding four-wheelers with Laney in Michigan as her final recollection of her. She finished by saying,

“You were a blessing in my life, and I will treasure every minute I had with you.” Laney, you will live on in my heart forever. I’m sure we’ll run across each other again.”

Laney Chantal died as a result of an unintentional drug overdose, according to her relatives. Chantal was candid with her followers about being diagnosed with BPD and battling addiction, in addition to other mental health issues. Laney started a GoFundMe campaign in 2019 to raise money for a sober living facility. However, the GoFundMe campaign only raised $1,661 of its $4,000 target. She said,

“I see that my life has become unmanageable, and even with the assistance of my outpatient treatment, I still feel like I need further assistance.”

Following her death, her family established a memorial fund in her honor, with all proceeds going to The Brain and Behavior Research Foundation, a non-profit that supports mental health research in an attempt to alleviate the suffering caused by mental illness.

Laney was born on February 20, 1989, as Alaina Chantal Parkhurst. Chantal grew up in Manitou Beach and became interested in music and skating. After graduating from high school, she relocated to Los Angeles and enrolled at the Cinema Make-Up School, where she earned a diploma in fabrication, prosthetic makeup, and sculpting in 2010. Chantal began creating special effects, make-up styles, and animals for cinema and music videos. She designed scary masks for several metal performers, as well as makeup for Shia LaBeouf and Evan Rachael Wood.

Chantal has worked with musicians such as Lil Nas X and The Smashing Pumpkins. She also featured in the fifth season of the cosmetics competition Face Off, where she made it to the finals but opted to leave since she was no longer having fun. When asked about her departure, she said,

“I felt like I’d completed what I’d come there to do.” In this program, I produced my favorite makeup looks I’ve ever done. As a major fan of the program, I had no idea I’d be competing against the veterans.”

Laney Chantal married Twiggy Ramirez in July 2014. They eventually divorced, and she was connected to Violent J, who appeared regularly in her Instagram photos. It was never verified whether Laney and Violent were dating.
