Lee Jong-suk, one of Hallyuland’s most adored performers, is expected to make a triumphant return this month with his noir drama, Big Mouth. Lee Jong-suk plays Park Chang-ho, a third-rate lawyer who finds himself neck-deep in difficulty after a criminal case goes bad. He ends himself in charge of a murder investigation, which transforms him overnight into a brilliant conman known as “Big Mouse.” To defend his family, he must now uncover a massive plot growing among the privileged upper classes.

When questioned about his ideas on portraying Park Chang-ho, an average lawyer-turned-genius conman, Lee Jong-suk revealed:

“He is literally coated with blood, sweat, and tears.” He wakes his survival instincts in order to earn a livelihood and to survive, building suspense for Park Chang Ho’s imminent confrontation.”

In Big Mouth, Lee Jong-suk wishes to exhibit “a different aspect” of himself via Park Chang-ho.

When questioned about his initial impressions of Park Chang-ho, Lee Jong-suk said that despite seeing him as an average and pathetic person, he wanted to assist him. However, now that he has completed shooting for the series, his attitude about the role has shifted.

“Now, rather than seeming average, I get the impression that Park Chang Ho is rather a powerful character.”

He also believes that fans will be able to connect with Chang-development ho’s and see him mature into a powerful character who would go to any extent to defend his family. The 32-year-old also discussed the story’s concept and the character’s intriguing metamorphosis from an average lawyer to a great conman.

“The irony of a regular lawyer being accused of being a great conman was fascinating.”

He’s also curious to see how viewers respond to his new persona as an anti-hero who alternates between good and evil.

“I believe I will be able to portray a new side of myself via the character Park Chang Ho, who must balance good and evil in order to live.”

Lee Jong-suk claimed that in order to discern between the two identities, he sought to separate tiny aspects such as his glance and style of talking. He went on to say that although they are the same individual, they have opposing interests and ambitions.

“I considered how to present the proper emotions for each occasion.”

He also discussed collaborating with director Oh Choong-hwan and what clinched the deal for him. Lee Jong said that he was already close to the filmmaker, having collaborated on the 2017 drama While You Were Sleeping, and even urged that they work together on Big Mouth. He added that he had a lot of faith in the director’s instincts and thought it would be a lot of fun to work on this project.
