Before entering politics, Mahua worked as an investment banker for JPMorgan Chase in New York and London. In 2009, she left her job as an investment banker to pursue a career in politics. She began by joining the Youth Congress and quickly became Rahul Gandhi’s favorite politician. During the “Aam Admi ka Sipahi” initiative, she was one of Rahul Gandhi’s trusted hands.
In 2010, she joined the All India Trinamool Congress Party. She was elected on behalf of her All Indian Trinamool Congress party.
