Career
Matshela Koko began working for Eskom in 1996. He began as a trainee engineer. He was trained in the Duvha power plant at Mpumalanga’s Work Station. In 2000, he became a pressure component engineer and started working as a boiler Plant Manager. He subsequently continued to work hard and was promoted to Senior Manager of the Engineering Division at Eskom in 2004.
Then, in 2009, he was appointed Chairman of the Asset Creation Programmes Committee. He later gained international acclaim for his efforts with Eskom. Later, he took over as Chairman of VGB Power Plant Concepts. Along the way, he was elected to the European Committee of Standardization.
