Megan Hilty’s Sister Family Was Killed In A Tragic Plane Crash

Megan Hilty’s sister, brother-in-law, and their kid were killed in an aircraft tragedy. Lauren, Megan’s sister, Ross Mickel, and their kid Remy were onboard a floatplane that crashed into Puget Sound near Washington’s Whidbey Island on September 4, 2022. Lauren was nine months pregnant when she died. In an interview with King 5, Mickel’s family stated:

“We are heartbroken and grieved by the death of our dear Ross Mickel, Lauren Hilty, Remy, and their unborn baby boy, Luca.” Our mutual anguish is indescribable.”

When the floatplane crashed, a search team was sent to locate all of the missing passengers and the pilot. The hunt was called off on Monday, September 5, 2022, when one corpse was discovered. The reason of the accident is yet unclear.

 

All About Megan Hilty

Megan Hilty, who was born on March 29, 1981, is best known for her roles in Broadway musicals, the musical-drama series Smash, and the NBC comedy Sean Saves the World. At the age of 12, Hilty started taking voice lessons and got interested in opera. She attended Bellevue’s Sammamish High School and Redmond’s Washington Academy of Performing Arts Conservatory High School.

She then attended Woodinville’s Chrysalis School. Megan earned a bachelor’s degree in theater from Carnegie Mellon University in 2004. After college, she auditioned for Wicked and made her Broadway debut as Glinda the Good Witch as a standby for Jennifer Laura Thompson in 2004. She took over for Thompson in 2015 and continued to perform on stage from 2006 until 2009.

She then performed in the musical Vanities at Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts in Mountain View, California. This was followed by appearances on episodes such as The Closer, Ugly Betty, Shark, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Closer, Desperate Housewives, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and more. Megan Hilty voiced Snow White in the 2007 animated feature Shrek the Third and played Dolaree Rhodes in the musical adaption of the 1980 comedy picture 9 to 5. In 2009, she featured as a fast food manager on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, followed by two episodes of Desperate Housewives.

Megan also belongs to the Actors’ Equity Association.

Hilty was known for her role as the Chinese Princess in the 2013 animated feature Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return and for her participation in the NBC sitcom Smash. After participating in another musical, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, she released her debut solo album, It Happens All the Time, in March 2013.
