Michael Snow

According to officials, Elizabeth Howell, a college student, was slain in New York near her school campus on Friday. Howell, 21, was the victim of a shooting on February 18 in Potsdam, which is located roughly 200 miles from Albany. When officers arrived at the murder site just before 6 p.m., they discovered Howell unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds. She was sent to Canton-Potsdam Hospital, where she was declared dead. Authorities did not disclose the circumstances surrounding the incident.

After police received reports of shots fired near campus the following day, the institution issued a shelter-in-place order. Michael J. Snow was arrested and charged with second-degree murder on February 19. After his arraignment, snow was sent to the St. Lawrence County Jail without bond. According to the university, he is not linked with the institution, and it is unknown how he and Howell became acquainted.

Snow’s whereabouts between 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on February 18 are being sought by authorities. He was seen driving a gray Honda Civic with the New York license plate KVE2731 through Potsdam, Hopkinton, Malone, Westville, Hogansburg, and Massena at the time. The driver’s side door was also damaged, according to the cops. Michael Snow, the accused, is a 31-year-old Massena, New York resident. There is very little information accessible about him. However, according to Heavy, Angela Moscow, Snow’s ex-sister, classmates said that she had known him since he was eight.

“He and his mother lived up the street from my parents. His parents are no longer married. He alternated between his mothers and father, although his father resided out of town. Because he’s weird, I believe he’s only had two girlfriends in his whole life and no long-term relationships.”

Mossow went on to describe Snow as “simply an oddball.” She said that Elizabeth’s murder occurred on Michael’s birthday and also suffered from mental health and substance misuse issues, making it difficult for him to find a job.

The teachers and family members of Elizabeth Howell are distraught.

Elizabeth Howell was a senior in the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. Her graduation was set to take place this year. “Beth” was her nickname. Dr. Phil Neisser, president of SUNY Potsdam, stated in a statement that the dead 21-year-old was a cellist who played with the Crane Symphony Orchestra.

“She was an ambitious schoolteacher with a promising future.” “As a campus community, we commemorate her life and grieve her death together.”

In a unified statement, the institution lamented Elizabeth’s death and said they stood together in support of her. Elizabeth Howell’s parents also voiced their grief, noting that their daughter was in the “wrong place, wrong time” when she was shot off-campus. Her father, Joe Howell, told the newspaper The Post that she was a girl who didn’t have enemies. His wife Ann characterized their daughter as a highly active part of her community, teaching swimming, lifeguarding, and cello, dancing ballet, and playing in orchestras.
