Noli de Castro, also known as “Kabayan” Noli de Castro, is a Filipino journalist, anchorman, and politician. He was elected to the Philippine Senate in 2001, receiving the most votes of any Senator in the election. From 2004 to 2010, he served as the Philippines’ 12th Vice President under then-President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

De Castro anchored both his radio shows Kabayan and TeleRadyo Balita on TeleRadyo, as well as TV Patrol on ABS-CBN/Kapamilya Channel, beginning in May 2020. He is one of the key television figures who support President Rodrigo Duterte’s administration’s drug war in the Philippines.   • After Marcos was deposed in 1986, de Castro joined ABS-CBN. He made his television debut as the host of the segment “At Your Service” on Good Morning, Philippines.

  • De Castro joined Magandang Gabi… Bayan in 1987 and later became the anchor of the news and public affairs show TV Patrol.
  • In July 1996, he became the newscast’s sole anchor, and in January 1999, he was named the newscast’s overall head of production and DZMM’s vice president.
