“Let’s wake up OJ at 1am,” is scrawled over the video. A group of 20 to 30-year-old ladies approach Simpson’s room, where he is seen sleeping, in the footage. They yell and make a lot of noise to wake him up. A guy videotaped the footage, and his voice could be heard stating,

“Let’s go, it’s time to party in the home!” It’s time to get up, let’s get up, let’s get up.”

When a shirtless Simpson awoke and perched on the edge of his bed, all the other ladies burst out laughing and yelling. One lady was observed listening to music on her phone, while another with blonde hair yelled, “Wakey! Wakey!” As the camera shifted to show others using their phones, the entourage fled the room at the conclusion of the film.

The viral video elicited some amusing reactions from internet users, with many referencing the former NFL star’s murder claims. Some even stated their distaste, saying they had a lot of questions about the video. Few people openly termed it “disturbing.”

One user even likened OJ Simpson to serial murderer Ted Bundy. A middle-aged guy who appeared in a few shots was also noted by netizens. Some people identified him as volley-ball player Tim Hovland, but this was just a rumor spread by Twitter users and could not be substantiated.

The former athlete was granted early release from prison in December 2021.

OJ Simpson was sentenced to five years on parole, which was to expire on February 9, 2022. In October 2008, he was convicted of arranging an armed robbery with five other individuals. The gang was accused of harassing two sports memorabilia sellers at Los Angeles’ Palace Station Hotel and Casino. The 74-year-old acknowledged the crime, stating that he took what was once his but had been taken following his 1995 acquittal.

He was sentenced to 33 years in prison at Nevada’s Lovelock Correctional Center, with the chance of release after nine years. Simpson was given parole in 2017 and will remain in a Nevada gated community until December 14, 2021.
