Percy was born on May 28, 1988, to Linda, his mother, and William Percival Harvin, Jr, his father. Linda previously ran track at Princess Anne High School in Virginia and coached an AAU team.

So we can see where his interest in sports began, and not only him, but his sister, Lindera, also participated in track and contributed significantly to Salem High School and Eastern Michigan University.

Because of an early departure, their father did not contribute much to their lives, but Percy never failed to assist his mother, who ran a daycare out of their home. Percy also coached Pop Warner’s football team to a national championship when he was only 13 years old.

Career

During his sophomore year of high school, Percy took over as head coach of the Landstown Eagles football team. His first win for his school was a 14-0 victory in the Virginia High School League.

He and his team competed against strong opponents such as First Colonial High School, Oakton High School, James Robinson High School, and others. Whether he was successful or not, he always gave his all and proved his worth.

Despite numerous controversies surrounding his game, he was still regarded as one of the greatest high school athletes. Not only did he excel at football, but he also excelled at basketball and track and field in high school.

He later transferred to the University of Florida and played for the Florida Gators. He was in great shape from the start and had two exciting games against the Tennessee Volunteers.

Throughout his college career, he played for teams such as the Central Florida Golden Knights and the Kentucky Wildcats, among others, and he continually improved his strategies. Though his career was harmed when he tested positive for marijuana, his dedication to the Minnesota Vikings proved them correct when they chose him.

Later in his career, he played for the Seattle Seahawks (2013–2014), New York Jets (2014), and Buffalo Bills (2015–2016). Finally, on March 14th, 2017, he announced his retirement from the NFL.
