Pearson was named Team UK coach for The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes in 2012. He won the bout via TKO in the third round. Pearson met Melvin Guillard at UFC Bout Night 30 on October 26, 2013, and the fight ended in a no-contest after Pearson was cut on the forehead with an unintentional illegal knee.
