Sean Lennon was born in New York City, New York, on October 9, 1975. He was the son of John and Yoko Ono. On his father’s side, he is of Welsh, Irish, and English descent, and on his mother’s side, he is of Japanese descent. Julian Lennon is his half-brother, and Kyoko Chan Cox is his half-sister.

Sean started kindergarten in Tokyo before moving to New York to attend Ethical Culture Fieldston and Dalton Schools. He later attended Institut Le Rosey in Rolle, a private boarding school in Switzerland.
