Sergey Brin

In January 2022, Google co-founder Sergey Brin filed for divorce from his wife Nicole Shanahan, the creator and CEO of the integrated patent management platform ClearAccessIP. Brin said that the decision was made due to “irreconcilable disagreements.” The ex-shares couples will be shared evenly among them, according to court records. Additionally,

“All matters concerning the parties’ property rights or responsibilities shall be resolved via secret binding arbitration in line with a signed agreement between the parties.”

Brin has asked for joint custody of their kid. However, neither party will seek spousal support. The ex-couple has also hired a private interim judge for the case in order to keep the verdict’s processes hidden. According to Sergey’s counsel, the petitioner is Google’s co-founder, and given their high-profile connection, people are curious about their divorce and child custody concerns. Brin’s counsel noted that if the couple’s everyday routines are known to the public, their child may face danger, harassment, or abduction.
