Shannon Woolsey Wiki
Shannon Woolsey is a well-known name in the burgeoning field of cheerleading. Every year, the British native celebrates her birthday with her friends and family on the 23rd of February. She was born in 1998, making her around 25 years old. Despite her youth, the youngster has a slew of accomplishments to her name. Her name skyrocketed in fame after her group was chosen as the theme for Netflix’s reality series “Cheer.” The series premiered in 2020 and quickly became a global phenomenon. Additionally, the cast made many appearances on “The Ellen Show.”
Woolsey grew up alongside her parents in Houston, Texas. The family relocated to Texas from the United Kingdom after her father Gary accepted a position with an oilfield waste management company. The company is based on the outskirts of Houston. Gary is now 59 years old and remains unflinching in his support of his daughter’s job choices and aspirations. Details about his wife are scarce, and Shannon is not very forthcoming with information about her parents. The girl and her father spend the majority of their time discussing their hometown and how much they miss Great Yarmouth.
Shannon’s professional career begins at the age of four. Woolsey became captivated with cheerleading at that age. She took gymnastics classes immediately upon her family’s relocation to Texas. She mentioned during a session that she and her mother were unable to focus on gymnastics due to the gym’s cheer program. Who, after all, is not captivated by such vitality and passion?
After another 2-to 3 years of gymnastics, she finally made up her mind and began cheering for Cheer Nation at the same facility. She began at level three and encountered numerous obstacles along the way. She even injured her elbow at one point and had surgery, just to reclaim her passion with renewed zeal. After a few years, her gym joined with Prodigy All-stars, and Shannon earned a spot on the Moonlight junior level 5 team. Despite additional roadblocks, young Woolsey became a member of the first senior world squad, Prodigy Midnight, in 2012.
Shannon eventually found her way to her ideal squad, the Cheer Athletics Cheetahs. The gymnasium was a four-hour drive from their home, and the aspiring girl spent two years driving back and forth. She won two major championships as a member of the squad. In her homepage photo, she proudly displays those two rings. Following her high school career, the girl joined Woodlands Elite Black Ops, which was located roughly 45 minutes from her home. She concluded her all-star career with an NCA championship, which she considers to be one of her most cherished memories.
Shannon attended Oklahoma State University for her undergraduate studies. OSU’s cheerleading department is well-known for its top-caliber performance. However, it appears as though Woolsey was unable to make the necessary connections in Oklahoma. After a semester there, she began living at home and taking online classes from a Houston community college. Again, the girl became dissatisfied with the structural education system and approached Cheer Athletics about rejoining the team. In 2017, she joined an all-female team called the Panthers and finished second in the Cheerleading World Championships.
