He attended Columbia High School, where he graduated in 1975, and spent his formative years there in South Orange, New Jersey. He enrolled in Wesleyan University after high school and studied English and Psychology there till 1979. He also received degrees from Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School, where he started in 1979 and graduated in 1982.
