Terence Allan Crawford was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 28, 1987, to Terry and Debbie Crawford. Shawntay and Latisha are his two sisters. Terence became interested in boxing at an early age and began training at the age of seven. He only lost 12 times out of 70 amateur fights. He even beat Mikey and Danny Garcia as amateurs, both of whom are now world champions.

Due to his three amateur tournament victories, he was rated first in the US lightweight division. His Olympic career, however, suffered as a result of defeats at the hands of Sadam Ali and others. He is not married or has a girlfriend, however, he does have a kid called Terence III. He presently lives in Omaha, Nebraska, where he was born.

Terence Crawford officially made his professional boxing debut on March 14, 2008. He battled Brian Cummings and knocked him out in the first round. His first 10-round match was against Breidis Prescott.
