Clayton Echard and Susie Evans’ relationship on The Bachelor

Clayton Echard and Susie Evans, the Bachelor pair, had a difficult start on the reality program. Susie departed the program when Clayton confessed to falling in love with and having sexual relations with two other finalists, Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia. The women were astonished, but Susie was devastated since she adored Clayton. The former footballer then sent Susie home on their dream suite date on The Bachelor on March 8, 2022, stating she did not want to “battle” for their love. Susie said at the time:

“In knowing that I have an engagement in a week, and there are certain things I can’t compromise on.” I don’t believe I’d feel comfortable [saying yes] if I was sharing your affection with someone else.”

Clayton defended himself by saying:

“I was getting sentiments of love for [them], so I slept with this individual to explore how the psychical connection was.” If you were in love with someone, you would just pursue that.”

Clayton, on the other hand, held affection for Susie long after she departed the program. He subsequently attempted to mend their friendship after The Bachelor ended. Clayton “didn’t believe it was going to happen,” particularly given how their last relationship ended. Susie revealed on the After the Final Rose special:

“After the concert, we took a break and reset.” We’re overjoyed, and we’re overjoyed to be here today.”

The former couple relocated to Virginia Beach, Virginia, only days after confirming their romance on the program. They shared love-filled photos on their individual Instagram accounts, allowing viewers to see their affection. After a few months, however, the pair decided to attempt a long-distance relationship in order to “sue” their aspirations. Clayton told Dear Media’s Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast presenter Amanda Hirsch about their future together:

“I mean, I’m on my computer 10 to 12 hours a day.” So she said, Clayton, I’ll go to L.A., and then we can see each other on weekends. And we’ll see what happens. We’re not sure whether we’ll like the lengthy drive.”

Adding to that:

“We’re like, we don’t know whether this is going to be a month-long [relationship] or a lifelong connection, but there’s no pressure.” Let us just love and be glad for one another.”

Clayton and Susie have split up because “external pressures” strained their relationship. The ex-couple is now “focused on continuing to work” on themselves.
