“The Price of Glee” Is Set To Released On ID

The Price of Glee

The Price of Glee will premiere on the ID channel on January 16, 2023, at 9 p.m. EST/8 p.m. CST, and will be available to watch on discovery+ the same day. The program will delve into the on- and off-screen lives of its performers, featuring never-before-seen interviews and dark behind-the-scenes drama from the players’ family and friends. While the majority of the performers rose to fame, several met tragic ends. Cory Monteith died of a heroin overdose, Mark Salling committed himself at the age of 35 after being discovered with child pornography, and Naya Rivera drowned in a lake. Let’s take a deeper look at everything we know so far about the forthcoming film.

What can we anticipate from The Price of Glee?

Glee, an American musical comedy-drama television series, aired on Fox from May 19, 2009, to March 20, 2015. It chronicled the lives of members of William McKinley High School’s ‘The New Directions,’ a singing society that competed as a show choir while dealing with societal concerns such as sexuality, racism, family, adolescent relationships, and teamwork.

The Price of Glee

The program was a huge hit and a cultural phenomenon. The caste went on to become household names, but it didn’t end well for everyone. According to the show’s official synopsis:

“Ten young performers made their television debut on ‘Glee’ in May 2009. By 2020, they’d all be renowned, and three of them would be dead.”

The following is the trailer for the forthcoming show:

Jason Sarlanis, president of Crime and Investigative Content – Linear, and Streaming, had this to say about the show:

“Glee was a once-in-a-generation cultural phenomenon that courageously challenged societal conventions and sparked pioneering conversations about sexuality, racism, handicap, and family. Each music-filled week gave pleasure to so many people, but even one of television’s happiest programs couldn’t escape Hollywood’s dark underside and the rush of emerging social media.”

He went on to say:

“While praising the show’s enduring influence on pop culture and extraordinary success, The Price of Glee examines the immense strain that comes with being launched into superstardom and gives fresh insight on the horrible tragedies that befell the cast and crew of Glee.”

People close to the cast members have been questioned about the program, including set decorators, hairdressers, stylists, publicists, and entertainment reporters, and some dark facts will be exposed. Cory Monteith, who portrayed Finn Hudson and was also Lea Michele’s on-and-offscreen partner, died of an accidental heroin overdose in 2013 while the show was still airing. Mark Salling, who portrayed Noah “Puck” Puckerman, was arrested in 2015 for child pornography possession. As part of a plea bargain, he pled guilty to the charges in 2017. He committed himself on January 30, 2018, only days before his sentence hearing on March 7.

Naya Rivera, who plays Santana Lopez, went missing on July 8, 2020, after failing to return from a boating trip on Lake Piru near her California home. Josey Dorsey, her four-year-old son, was found uninjured shortly after. Rivera’s corpse was recovered on July 13, 2020, and she was confirmed dead from drowning at the age of 33. From 2007 through 2010, Naya Rivera and Mark Salling were together.
