Alexander Hamilton was a Founding Father, a delegate to the Constitutional Convention, the author of the Federalist Papers, and the first Secretary of the Treasury of the United States.

Alexander Hamilton was born in the British West Indies and later worked as an assistant to General George Washington. As one of America’s Founding Fathers, he persuaded New Yorkers to ratify the United States Constitution in 1788.
